California Residents

Effective 01/01/20, all residents of California (customers and non-customers) can call Sling TV or AirTV to request (1) we do not sell their information, (2) a report containing the data we have about them, (3) that we erase their data.

Agents should refer customers to privacy.dish.com (called the Privacy Portal) to input Name, Address, Phone Number, and Email. They must be residents of California and they must have an email address in order to use the Portal.

If the customer is unable or does not want to access the website, agents should enter the information for them, including going through the process of verifying their identity through Transunion. The following rules apply:

  1. Agents may only enter the information for the customer calling. Do not enter information for people you are not speaking with.
  2. The email address does not have to match the email address on the account (if applicable)
  3. Agents are not able to verify information previously entered or confirm information previously entered
  4. Agents will read each question and answer options to the caller, one at a time for the identity verification
    1. You may not provide any assistance understanding or answering the question. You can only repeat the question if necessary.

Customers should receive their requested data and/or deletion within 45 days. If we need more time than that, we will email them within that 45 days.

If the customer escalates or has questions like the examples below, transfer to the Fraud Prevention Skill.

  • No email provided
  • Did not receive data after 90 days
  • Delete data confirmation not received
  • Received request with wrong name
  • Received request for data and never requested

Nevada Residents

If the customer is unable to access the website, agents will enter the information for them. 

The following rules apply:

  1. The agent may only enter the information for the customer calling. They are not allowed to enter information for people they are not speaking with.
  2. The email address does not have to match the address on the account (if applicable).
  3. The agents are not able to verify information previously entered or confirm information previously entered.

When you use Sling services, we collect account information like your name, address, email, etc. to provide you with the highest-quality programming and technology. If you would like to know more, please visit privacy.dish.com for additional information.

Why do I need an email address?
We need an email address for this request only. Your email will not be used for any other purposes outside of this transaction.

Outside of Nevada
Currently, Nevada and California allow their residents to request to be added to a “Do Not Sell” list. For any additional questions, please visit privacy.dish.com.

I didn’t receive a confirmation.
When the request is successfully submitted online there is a completion page showing the request is complete. That’s it! We will add your information to the “Do Not Sell” list to ensure your ongoing privacy.

Why can’t you access my request and give me additional information?
To ensure we are protecting your information, I do not have access to the request that was submitted to add you to the “Do Not Sell” list.
